WKAR, the NPR member station for Michigan State University and the mid-Michigan region, is seeking an experienced, charismatic and dedicated producer and local anchor for ‘Morning Edition’. Responsibilities include producing and hosting local segments between 5:00-11:00 a.m. on our two NPR member stations. They must consistently deliver a professional on-air presentation during anchoring of newscasts and operate the control board during live broadcasts.  In addition to writing and anchoring news segments, they may produce or conduct live interviews. They must pitch, produce and edit audio-rich features with multiple viewpoints and sound sources. They must help curate the WKAR.org website with new stories and share content on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. This person will work closely with the station manager, digital news director, other program hosts, reporters and student interns.

 

WKAR is part of Michigan State University College of Communication Arts & Sciences.
