Public Radio Content Conference 2015

The Content Conference

September 29 - October 1, 2015
Pittsburgh, PA

If ever there was a year to make it to PRPD...

  • Podcasting trend stories outnumber follow up on the stories our journalists have broken.
  • What have we learned, and what comes after, the Spark project?
  • And, collectively, we’ve trained and cultivated an audience who freaks out when Kim Kardashian appears on Wait, Wait.

Clearly, plenty to talk about... and some brilliant people to inspire you.

David Remnick, Editor-in-Chief of The New Yorker, will address the PRPD conference, sharing his thoughts on how he leads an established, essential media brand through times of editorial, technological and market change.

Remnick is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who comes to the conference with his own deep, passionate memories of radio's formative role in his life. Remnick is not a radio bystander, having recently led The New Yorker into a partnership with WNYC, New York with an eye toward new content creation endeavors.

What did Apple see in Zane Lowe and how has he earned the title of “most influential music curator in the world?”

Media strategist Chris Price worked for years with Lowe at BBC Radio 1. He will take a crack at answering that question and test our thinking on the value and importance of pivotal talent.

Chris has worked in music and the media for fifteen years, most recently as Head of Music for Last.fm. Prior to that he devised music strategy forMTV’s nine UK music channels, after six years programming BBC Radio 1 and five years with Sony Music Entertainment and the Warner Music Group.

Three days of invigorating work, vital conversations about the future of content in the age of hyper-distraction and it all happens in Pittsburgh at the historic Omni William Penn Hotel September 29 - October 1, 2015.
