Position Summary:

WMFE-FM in Orlando is seeking an experienced, professional, and creative Health Reporter to provide in-depth reporting on issues important to our Central Florida listeners.

 

As a reporter, this individual will produce network-quality long-form news and feature stories, interviews, and spots on a variety of health-related topics.  Participate in WMFE news series and special coverage(s). The reporter will also use social media to keep the online audience up to date on news items, and provide blog posts and online content for WMFE.ORG.

 

Applicants should have a minimum of three years reporting and/or producing experience along with a college degree or equivalent work experience.  A demonstrated news judgment and initiative in developing sources to produce original news coverage is also required. An extensive knowledge of healthcare, health organizations, and other health related topics is preferred.

 

Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Florida Driver’s license, proof of personal auto insurance at a level acceptable to WMFE’s auto insurance provider, and a driving record that is acceptable to WMFE’s auto insurance provider.
